CTS I Have a Dream Letters

Before I hang up my students' "I have a dream" writings and drawings I wanted to share them with you. I have typed them as writtem. I hope you enjoy reading them on this Martin Luther King Day. I read them his speech, emphasizing the last 1/4 of it. I then told the kids to write about their dream for America and this is what they came up with: I have a dream of one day everyone can live a better life. And when all people can stand up fpr themselves. And they don't have to be afrais. And so everyone can live with the united states of america. Brianna, age 7 I have a dream for America. I dream that everybody treats everybody equally and nobody thinks that they are better than others. Marcelino, age 9 I have a dream that every one in New Orlean is safe and gets thir stuf replaced. And they feel safe. Olivia, age 7 I have a dream that everyone has an opportunity to start all over again. I have a dream that everyone has an opportunity to get a good job not becase what you look like but what kind of a person you are. Anastayshia, age 10 I have a dream the famls hadEt Kik uthr famls out. Charlie, age 7 I have a dream that every one will stop fighting and violense will stop in the United States of America. Terantae, age 9 I have a dream for all people to have their own homes. Having your own home would be good because you would have a place to sleep. Insted of living on the streets asking people to stay the night at people you dont know house. People would feel secure in their own homes. Keiraira, age 9 I have a dream that nobody will do drugs anymore in the unitstate of America. Diego, age 9 I have a drem that white and blck will like each other. Tyler, age 8 I have a dream that the wold would be a beder plase and the wold woul be Happt To. Kyla, age 7 My dream is that all children will have a school to go to. Some kids are on the streets and don't have a school to go to. My dream is for all children to have parents to take care of them. It makes me sad to see children on the streets. Hannah, age 8 I have a dream That kids have a home. All kids can be warm and tha can Eat. Timothy, age 7 I have a dream... My dream for America is that everyone will be happy and respectful towarde other people. And treat others how you whant to be treated. So there will not be that many fights in the world. Terri, age 9 I hav a dream that the hool world sood have a betr lif and a nice cozee home. Patricia, age 7 I have a dream for poor people to be treated equle to ritch or people don't live on the streets. Because some people when they have a poor person asking for money they ignore them walk away. Indiana, age 9 I have a dream that no American is hungry. I have a dream that the president could change the prices at the stores lower so the poor people can have food on their table and more clothes to wear. Joselena, age 10 My dream for america is for everyone to have a home. People who live on the streets would have a roof over their heads and they wouldn't get rained on. I know how it feels to not have a home. Jackson, age 9 My dreem is to shange the roolls. I wont to mac bad things to hapin to bad to bad peopol. Jesse, age 7 I have a dream that our nation will have more shelters for abused women and children. I have a dream that everyone will respect everyone's religons. I have a dream that every kid will be drug free for life. I have a dream that each child will have self-confidence and be brave enough to speak what they think Marilynn, age 9 I have a dream for all the people to be nice to evey boty and to ceep places neat and dont be rases and dont be cusing. Marnee', age 8 I have a dream...that in Idaho there will be no racists and black's and white's get along and everybody will be safe. And that's my dream D.J., age 7 My dreem for america is america is kind to all countries. Adrian, age 7. I want to thank all of you for helping all of these children and having faith in them and the prospect of their growing up into responsible adulys who will work to make America a better country.
