Foster Cluboriginal link Serves as our primary communication tool with youth. This web site is a hub of information relating to foster care, including articles, q+a, message boards, contests, discussion of foster care topics, and even biographies of famous people who grew up in care. It’s the resource that's available to youth 24/7. Lawyers For Childrenoriginal link Since 1984, the attorneys and social workers at Lawyers For Children have been transforming the hopes of children in foster care into reality, by providing critically needed, top quality legal representation and social work services. Every day, LFC staff can be found in the courtroom and in the community, advocating on behalf of children in New York City whose parents or guardians have voluntarily placed them into foster care, and children who are the subject of abuse, neglect, termination of parental rights, custody, visitation and adoption proceedings. Community Transitional Schooloriginal link The young people who go to school there are by and large gracious, funny, sweet, attentive individuals, who are able to find at CTS a sense of community, neighborhood and home that is safe, consistent and loving. CTS serves young people from K-8th grade, whose families are homeless. The school provides food and transportation to all the kids. Cheryl Bickle describes CTS like this:
Check it out, drop by and volunteer, send them your good thoughts. CTS rocks! Powered by Drupal - Design by Artinet - FreeStyle Menus by Angus Turnbull. |
