Dear Friends,

It is with utmost sadness and the heaviest of hearts that we must announce the impending dissolution of Street Yoga. Our last day of service will be April 13th, 2019.

2018 brought about a series of unforeseen financial challenges that bore too great of a burden to overcome – despite the tireless support of this community and our staff/board’s noblest efforts to keep the org afloat. Having now exhausted every possible avenue to remain sustainable, we must accept that we’ll be closing our doors. We do plan to carry out all scheduled events and trainings until 4/13, and pledge to donate 100% of proceeds raised to a fellow organization doing similar work in the yoga/trauma space.

It has been a humbling honor to work alongside each and every one of you in the fight to lift up our community’s vulnerable youth, and build a world where everyone has access to the healing benefits of yoga and mindfulness. We couldn’t be more proud of the impact we’ve made over nearly two decades of service:

Helping >250 young people heal from trauma each year for 17 years

• Training >3,000 people nationwide how to empower youth in their communities

A heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to all the incredible teachers, trainers, volunteers, community partners and donors who selflessly supported our cause throughout the years. None of this would have been possible without you!

Our enduring hope is that each of you will go forth and carry out our legacy of service, compassion and support for those in need. It’s now up to you – our friends, advocates and allies – to keep the spirit of Street Yoga alive after we close our doors for good. Our part in the journey may be coming to an end, but the vision we’ve worked so hard to build lives on through all of you.

With gratitude and hope, we now pass the torch to you. May our shared mission drive you forward for years to come, and may you never stop striving for a brighter, more equitable tomorrow.

With love & appreciation,

The Street Yoga team
